Hamilton and Massa at it again in India
This weekend saw the inaugural Indian Grand Prix, which Sebastian Vettel won comprehensively. But this was to be expected as he already wrapped up is second driver’s title and looks to send a message to the other teams, including his teammate, about what he wants to do in 2012.
But the big news from the weekend was that McLaren-Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari driver Felipe Massa crashed…….again.

I know this was not the first time this has happened this season but this should be an alarm for Ferrari and McLaren about their drivers.
As you well know, I’m a big Hamilton fan for the last couple of seasons. He has grown up a lot since he began in 2007, but something just seems wrong with him at the moment. Yes he changed management and left his girlfriend, that will have an impact for some time but we all had some glimpses of the real Hamilton this season.
He is one of the fastest drivers there but he tends to make mistakes when he is in the middle of the pack. You don’t see Vettel make mistakes because he has dominated this season and led from the front.
As you know it is easier to make a mistake when you are surrounded by other drivers.
But I think Hamilton will be back and stronger than ever in 2012, if McLaren gives him a competitive car. He has a major point to prove. He is going to be mega next season. For now, he has to get his head straight for the remainder of the races; he has the talent to do it.
This brings me on to Massa. I’m not a fan. He has not been the sane driver since the accident which almost cost him his life.
He has not been a very good teammate to his Ferrari partners. Take 2006 for an example. If he really was motivated to help Schumacher to take his eighth title he would have helped him in Turkey and Brazil, but no, he went for the win.
Take 2010, would Vettel have won the championship had Massa protected Fernando Alonso? My answer is yes. It is never a good idea to have two number 1 drivers in a team, that is a fact.
Other than take a couple of victories he hasn’t done much for the team from Italy. He should either do what he is told to do or move on to another team, not that another team would take him. His salary is way too high and in unstable economic times he is unlikely to find another team that is willing to pay huge fees for a “so-so driver”.
So Ferrari, if you want to return to winning again, dump Massa and get a “yes-man driver “, get Bruno Senna. He has the Senna gene, mould him into a champion next to Alonso, so by the time Alonso retires he will dominate.
