Greed, stupidity, laziness, Sony PlayStation and 419-ers
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011Hackers have plagued Sony recently – stealing over 77 million folks’ ID and in most cases, credit card data.
Now how’s that?
Will Sony pay back the cash?

Right all together now ... grovel.
If the hackers are smart, they’ll only steal a dollar per user and do it a number of times before anyone catches on.
But they probably won’t. Greedy hackers end up trying to steal huge amounts once then disappear into the Siberian digital wasteland. Pop up again in Mauritius on a yacht and surrounded by babes.
Ja-nee.
Digital theft is rampant. Because humans really are imbued with three distinguishing traits amongst others: Greed, stupidity and laziness.
So all those chaps who got taken by 419-ers suggesting they could earn dollars from dictator’s aunties must realize, they’re one step away from chookie. That is both greedy and stupid. You know the dictator got his money from shooting people in the head – and accepting that cash is tantamount to drinking infected blood. So get taken then, you deserve to be swamped by 419-ers, you stupid human you.
Those who continue to reply to emails from banks demanding they change their passwords are even more dumb. Because they’re too lazy to check with the bank and want to sit on their behinds firing mails hither and thither instead of actually interacting with the world.
But having your card skimmed or having your data stolen off Sony’s servers is another story.
We all know the entire internet network is riddled with insecurity. Dark digital alleys abound hiding horrible pimps, muggers and murderers.
Your computer IP address is shared thousands of times over. No numerical protection on your hardware – no chance of banks’ actually protecting your service.
Not like an ATM network which features ISDN and Diginet code that is NOT replicated – nor is it on the open IP network.
However, Sony will probably now start paying back millions of USD about to be digitally swagged by said hacker/s.
Watch the Sony share price. It should show signs of a steep descent shortly.
